[Hollywoodlife] When Chris Brown left his California treatment facility on Feb. 23 after more than a 90-day stint, it appeared that he was back to being a free man. But not so fast. After appearing in court for a progress hearing on Feb. 28, a judge ordered that the R&B singer return to rehab for another two months, according to Page Six. Why the harsh sentence?

The judge reportedly wants Chris to continue his anger management treatment, and then return to court for another progress update two months from now. The next hearing is scheduled for Apr. 23, which would come after what’s expected to be a brief assault trial in Washington D.C., where Chris will face accusations that he and his bodyguard punched a man and broke his nose in a Fall 2013 altercation.

Prosecutors in Los Angeles have asked that Chris be sent to jail for violating his probation in the D.C. fight, but Chris’ attorneys are requesting that the court wait to make that decision until after the assault trial is over.

But back to the matter at hand — Chris was initially only sentenced to 90 days in rehab to treat his anger issues, so why is he being ordered to return a second time? The only explanation is that something happened during this progress hearing to suggest that Chris wasn’t fully rehabilitated. It could have been something he said, or possibly something one of his treatment physicians said.

This has to be huge blow to Chris, who was so thrilled and hopeful about re-entering society when he left the treatment center on Feb. 23. “He feels good about it,” a source told exclusively at the time.

“He’s trying to take what he learned with him about his anger and relationships with women and his mother and use those skills to make his relationships better,” the source continued. Unfortunately, it now appears that Chris still has more to learn.

[TMZ] Chris Brown has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, severe insomnia and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder … and that’s why he has had such anger issues … this according to new court docs.

Chris was in court today for a progress hearing in the Rihanna beating case.  Documents were filed by the facility where Chris just completed 90 days of anger management therapy. In fact, Chris stayed longer, just completing 95 days.

In the legal docs — obtained by TMZ — an official from the rehab facility wrote that … in addition to his diagnosis … Chris was self-medicating inappropriately.

The facility writes, “Mr. Brown became aggressive and acted out physically due to his untreated mental health disorder, severe sleep deprivation, inappropriate self-medicating and untreated PTSD.” They never explain the cause of the PTSD. The letter also says Chris was diagnosed with Bipolar II.

The letter says Chris is on meds for the bipolar and other conditions.

Chris has learned various relaxation exercises, according to the letter, and he’s tested negative for drugs, including weed, during his stay.

The facility says he’s doing really well.  It says he gets up at 5 AM and works hard.  They say he’s been especially good with community service, saying, “Mr. Brown’s attitude has been beyond exemplary in regard to his community service responsibilities.”
