TLC kinda-sorta reunited at this year’s American Music Awards, as Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas performed their ’90s megahit “Waterfalls.” Replacing the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes was Lil Mama, who actually played Left Eye in the recent TLC biopic. The result was a performance that sat somewhere between reunion and homage — or heresy, depending on your perspective. Watch video of the performance below:
The 24-year-old rapper joined the remaining original members of TLC to perform their 1995 hit “Waterfalls.”
Lil Mama, Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas recreated key moves and moments from the band’s iconic video.
Lil Mama even stepped out in front and did Left Eye’s legendary “Waterfalls” rap.
TLC closed the performance projecting the image of Left Eye behind them. Hopefully, they did her proud.
